There is a moment before opening — when something held for a long time begins, almost imperceptibly, to give way. This work was made from that moment.
Real fabric, compressed and twisted, rises from a dark ground in cascading forms. Bronze and copper surfaces catch light differently depending on where you stand — the work changes as you move, as light moves, as the day changes around it. What looks like stillness is not still. What looks finished is mid-motion.
The black ground is not absence. It is pressure. And what emerges from it is not decoration — it is resistance made visible, the physical record of something that refused to stay flat.
