About the Artist

I am an artist based in the Netherlands.

Returning to painting was not a new beginning, but a continuation of a lifelong search for truth, depth, and something genuinely felt.

My paintings are created instinctively, without sketches or predetermined compositions. Working with acrylics, oils, texture pastes and spray paint, I build each work through layers, allowing the painting to develop through an ongoing dialogue between intuition and material.

I often paint with my fingers, using direct contact with the surface to respond to the movement, texture and energy of the work. At other times, I use brushes or other tools when the painting calls for a different kind of expression. The process is physical and intuitive, but never entirely uncontrolled: I follow what emerges and make decisions along the way.

Rather than depicting places or figures, I paint inner landscapes. Nature becomes a language for experiences that cannot easily be spoken — mist gathering over a valley, light breaking through rock, forests breathing after rain, or flowers emerging from darkness.

At the heart of my practice is the duality of the human experience. I am drawn to the tension between opposing states: movement and stillness, intensity and silence, rawness and tenderness, light and shadow. My work explores these seemingly contradictory forces not as separate worlds, but as parts of the same human experience.

This duality also appears through my use of different mediums. Acrylic allows for a more immediate, energetic and instinctive response, while oil creates space for slower, quieter and more contemplative states. These two directions form distinct bodies of work, yet they remain connected by the same exploration of what happens within us.

Every painting begins without a fixed image. I follow the work until it reveals its own direction, allowing intuition, material and emotion to shape the final form.

Through painting, I explore memory, transformation, tenderness, tension and resilience — not by illustrating them, but by giving them a physical presence.
