Undulation

There is a moment inside every wave — a hollow, suspended between rising and crashing — where the world holds its breath. This painting captures that impossible instant: the dark mass of water curling around a luminous centre, turquoise and white, raw and still at once.

Painted with layered texture and bold gestural strokes, the work draws the eye inward, into the eye of the wave itself. The earthy reds and bronzes burning at the edge suggest heat beneath cold water, life beneath the surface. Dark meets light not in conflict, but in embrace.
